MILESTONE SESSION PREP GUIDE
When it comes to planning for your milestone session, I want to help make picking out the outfits as easy as possible. First let’s start with prepping baby for the day of the session:
HAPPY Baby Tips
1. Keep baby in their normal routine, as much as possible, leading up to our session.
2. Depending on session time, ensure they have a full nap (try not to let them skip their regular nap on session day).
3. Bring extra snacks/bottles, etc. to the session
4. When you arrive to the session, I will give baby/kids some time to warm up and get accustomed to me and the camera.
5. Please have baby already dressed upon arrival to the session. Cover with a bib or blanket in car if worried about getting anything on their outfit in the ride over.
What to wear?
-Baby Boys (3-12 months)
I recommend bringing a neutral outfit such as a white onsie and jeans or suspender pants with no shirt (my fave). I would avoid anything with plaid/stripes or distracting pattern to have a more organic feel.
-Baby Girls (3-12 Months)
Rompers, White Onsies, and Dresses are recommended. For girls, I may also use wraps around them to make for some sweet images.
I love these stores for outfits & accessories (hats, bows, etc):
I recommend checking out these rental boutiques below for children of all ages--
#1 You don't have to buy an outfit your child will only wear one time.
#2 It's a fraction of the price to rent vs buy.
#3 Their outfits are adorable and work for any type of backdrop.

While Milestone sessions typically focus on baby/child, I know it’s the perfect time to get updated sibling images as well as a family portrait! If you purchased this add on — Here are a few tips and tricks to prepare for these images:
Sibling shots will typically be completed in the beginning, depending on age of sibling. Dress them in something simple and neutral toned. Please no stripes, plaid, or patterns on shirts. Cream dresses for girls and white shirts for boys. In studio, siblings will also be barefoot for these images—so no need to worry about matching shoes.
After shots of siblings, and just the milestone baby then family posing will be toward the middle-end of the session.
Family Outfits— Try to coordinate outfits without looking overly "matchy."
Avoid wearing the same colors and instead, find a color palette you love and piece together items from that palette that are complimentary to one another.
Layers are fantastic for guys and gals. Add in layers (jackets, vests, leggings, and tights) and accessories ( hats, scarves, necktie or bowties, and headbands) to give your outfits that stylized look.
Hair & Makeup
Moms, I recommend professional hair/makeup if you plan on being photographed. You can setup makeup appointments at the beauty counters at Sephora, Ulta, Dillards, etc. Visit your regular stylist for a blow dry or loose curl style. I can share my preferred vendors list for specific hair/makeup stylists as well. If you don't wear makeup, please bring a tinted lip gloss and mascara which will help brighten your images!

The goal is to get at least TWO looks. For milestone sessions, I do offer a few options age's 3 mo-1 Year only in my studio wardrobe for clients to choose. I recommend bringing at least 1 outfit from home, and then changing into 1 from the studio closet.
